EPISODE 37: THE MIKE AND SHAG SHOW - STARMAN ROCKS!

Last week Michael teamed up with Shag and this week he teams up with…Shag. Last week was Marvel in the nineties and this week they discuss DC in the nineties. After arguing whether or not the nineties were a good time for the company Michael chides Shag on a past debate before they go over their choices. First up Michael goes over Mark Waid’s run on the Flash and then Shag tackles the nineties Starman series. Fun stuff all around, which is pretty common for these two crazy guys. WARNING: THIS SHOW HAS LANGUAGE THAT IS INAPPROPRIATE FOR…EVERYONE. LISTENER DISCRETION IS ADVISED.
Remember that you can read Shag’s thoughts and musings at his blog, Once Upon a Geek.  Check it out.  Despite constantly telling me that I’m wrong Shag is extremely entertaining and if you like Dr. Who then he is the go-to guy.

Episode 1- The Merry Marvel Marching Society Episode

Views From The Longbox is a comic book podcast hosted by Michael Bailey. Every week Michael will cover some aspect of the four colored world of comic books. Each episode will run twenty to thirty minutes so Michael won’t be wasting too much of your time with his sometimes incoherent ramblings about the comic books and related items that he has squirreled away in his house. This week's episode includes:

- Michael says thanks to some people who deserve it
- Thrill at seven theme songs from the Silver Age
- Listen to Michael’s somewhat amusing commentary on them
- The first installment of the Views Podcast/Blog Pick of the Week

Show Notes

Again, not a truly link heavy week. This show is mainly an assemblage of a theme songs strung together by some supposedly humorous ramblings. The only ones I really have are these:

And if you want to find some of these themes you can go HERE and HERE. The second one is where I got the opening and closing themes and it's a pretty good blog too. Also, if you look to the right you will see a link for 2 in 1 Showcase. Go there to check out this excellent podcast. I'm a big fan of what Blake and Chase do on a weekly basis.

So that's about it this week. Remember that you can take advantage of the RSS feed and subscribe to the show through iTunes by using the links to the right. Also I do have a MySpace and now a ComicSpace page for the show, so check those out as well. And, as always, visit Media Gauntlet for fun and somewhat thought provoking commentary and don't hold the fact that they host this show against them.

See you all next week.
